About

Hi, I’m Megan- the owner of Growing Together: Speech-Language Therapy, LLC!

I’ve been a licensed speech-language pathologist (SLP) in the state of Maryland for 11 years. I received my Master of Science degree at Towson University in 2012 and spent the next 9 years as an SLP at Kennedy Krieger Institute’s Center for Autism and Related Disorders. While there, I developed a love for working with young children and their families.

My specialties include identifying and therapeutically supporting children with speech, language and social communication differences, and I aim to foster connections between caregivers and their children. I am particularly interested in supporting neurodivergent toddlers and preschoolers- building their communication skills and self-advocacy from a young age.

I have been trained in the SCERTS Model and am currently listed as an NLA Trained Clinician on the Meaningful Speech Registry. I am actively pursuing continuing education related to AAC and DTTC to support children with complex communication needs.

My goal as an SLP is to establish family-centered care which values your child’s individual strengths and interests. Together, we can build upon their communication skills and help them reach their full potential. I hope to support your child in their most comfortable setting(s) and provide parents/caregivers with the knowledge and encouragement to build long-lasting relationships.

Meet the Team

  • Hi, I’m Maddy! I graduated with my Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology in 2012. I have worked with both pediatrics and adults in an outpatient location as well as a nonpublic school for autistic children and adults. My passions in the field are augmentative and alternative communication (AAC), childhood apraxia of speech, and speech sound disorders. I believe the most important aspect of a child’s ability to progress in therapy is to make a genuine connection, create meaningful activities to target skills, and train parents and caregivers to facilitate carryover.

I have been trained in PROMPTs for Restructuring Oral Muscular Phonetic Targets (PROMPT), Picture Exchange Communication System (PECS), LAMP Words for Life, and Pragmatic Organization Dynamic Display (PODD). I have experience working with additional AAC programs such as TouchChat, Lingraphica, and GoTalk Now. I am actively pursuing further education in the areas of tongue thrust and treatment post tongue tie revision.

I look forward to assisting your family through the progression of your child’s development!
